In 1961, an unknown 19-year-old Bob Dylan arrives in New York with his guitar. During his meteoric rise, he forged relationships with Greenwich Village music icons, culminating in a breakthrough performance that resonated around the world. According to an October 2020 Collider interview with cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, the studios’ newly released COVID precautions were on track to put Bob Dylan’s film project on hold; as a result, Papamichael and director James Mangold turned to other projects. “I don’t think it’s dead,” said of the Papamichael Chalamet-directed biopic, “But in the age of COVID, that’s difficult because it’s in small clubs with a lot of extras in period costumes, so you have a lot of hair and makeup. So our next one.” The project is actually “Indiana Jones 5″ (2022).”
