Plot
Based on Robert Harris' 2016 novel "Conclave".. Sister Agnes: Although we sisters are supposed to be invisible, God has given us eyes and ears. This is the secret of the selection of the Pope, which takes place in the Vatican on four different days today.
They are all ambitious
We first meet liberal British Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes), dean of the College of Cardinals, on his way to the Vatican after the death of the current Pope. Lawrence and the liberal American Cardinal Bellini (Stanley Tucci) have been close to the pope, and as dean, Lawrence will preside over the conclave that will elect the new pope. Three weeks later, as the conclave begins, we also meet moderate but manipulative Canadian Cardinal Tremblay (John Lithgow), ultra-conservative Italian Cardinal Tedesco (Sergio Castellitto) and conservative Nigerian Cardinal Adeyemi (Lucian Msamati).

Suddenly, the mysterious young Cardinal Benitez (Carlos Dieh) arrives from Kabul, Afghanistan, but was born in Mexico. We also meet Sister Agnes (Isabella Rossellini), a nun who receives the cardinals during conclave and has sharp eyes and ears. Cardinal Lawrence is soon faced with rumors and power plays at the College of Cardinals, which force him to use his assistant.
Ralph Fiennes is an excellent leader as he himself doubts the church

Finally, there is an unexpected solution."Conclave" What I think is a well-crafted and well-crafted mystery that respects Vatican procedure.
Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow are also great
The slightly telegraphed ending has an implausibility that is initially disappointing, but a clever twist redeems it. The cinematography is a bit overwrought a couple of times (all cardinals under matching white umbrellas?).
