The show is half procedural, half family drama
Earlier in her acting career, she changed her last name from Wang to Bennet (her father’s name) when she encountered casting agents who said they couldn’t cast her for Asian or Asian American roles, but her name prevented them from considering white characters. I’m in Episode 2 & I’ll get back to you eventually after I’ve watched the whole thing. I can’t say for sure if I like this show or not. Unfortunately, I like the family part more than the procedural.
The episodes could definitely have been shorter
I’m sure it should be the other way around. It feels like there’s a lot of filler. The episodes are almost an hour long, but they could definitely have been done in 10 minutes. I really like Jimmy Yang & the family dynamic, so hopefully the show will find its rhythm.

It’s so depressing that her family, except for her son Jimmy, sees her as a scumbag. Sorry, I’m not a very good writer, but I wanted to be the first person to write a review, but someone beat me to it. Someone must have been working on the show since they gave it a 10. People on this site give it a 10 like it’s going out of style.
