A modern-day tale of making it in the world of oil drilling in West Texas

Essentially, they manage the land and secure the rent so they can drill for oil and gas
Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the companies they represent. Like foremen on a construction site, they build roads, camp people, assemble excavation machinery, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations.

They are also part-time fixers, problem solvers, and leaders. If you were a fan of Mayor of Kingstown, you’ll love this series.
Billy Bob Thornton delivers his grizzled, spiteful, no-nonsense Billy Bob Thornton with his signature sarcasm
Even the opening credits are similar in style and cinematography, I guess that’s a Taylor Sheridan trademark. In one of the first few episodes, there’s a scene where Thornton’s character gives a long speech about the need for oil in every area of our lives, which definitely sounds like an oil industry propaganda script, but nothing he says is untrue.
It’s kind of funny that the first few episodes are sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute and feature commercials featuring oil and oil workers
Overall, I think this is going to be a great series, the writing is great, the acting is great, and the characters are very human.
